After Saim Ayub, another Karachi-based cricketer Khuwaja Nafay has attracted cricket fans with elegant no-look shots.
Nafay, who is representing Omar Associates in 8th Corporate T20 Cup which is underway at Moin Khan Cricket Academy, went viral on social media after playing a magnificent knock against AZ Real and Estate Developers. His powerful knock was full of entertainment and featured stylish no-look shot more often.
Speaking to GeoSuper.tv on the sidelines of the ongoing Ramadan tournament, Nafay gave credit to his coach for effortless no-look shots.
"I am thankful to Allah that he gave me best coaches. Sir Liaquat is my coach and he trains me for this. He always says that when you play a shot, keep immense confidence that the ball will go for a boundary so that there is no need to look at it," he shared.
Nafay is popular in Karachi cricket circle for his power-hitting skills. The right-handed stylish batter recently also featured in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). He played three matches for Chattogram Challengers and could only score 13 runs.
While responding to a question, Nafay said he doesn't look up to any power-hitter particularly but yes, he follows Babar Azam's consistency in scoring runs.
"In power-hitting, there is no one at this moment whom I look up to. Yes, I love watching Babar Azam like many others. I get motivation by watching him, they way he scores runs with consistency is something very motivating.
The young cricketer thanked Omar Associates for giving him the opportunity to play in Ramadan cricket and he also wishes to play Pakistan Super League (PSL) as soon as possible.
"I am thankful to Azam Khan and Nadeem Omer of Omer Associates for giving me this opportunity. Obviously, I would like to continue my performances and make my name. Yes, I wish to play PSL in near future," he concluded.
Omer Associates are one of the frontline cricket teams in Karachi. Owned by Nadeem Omer, also the owner of PSL franchise Quetta Gladiators, Omer Associates have given players like Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asad Shafiq, Saim Ayub and many others.
